Skills for Life courses at South Thames College lead to vital skills and essential qualifications in Reading, Writing, Maths, Employability and more:
- Our courses for adults provide a wide range of English and Maths classes. Students enrol to help them get a job or promotion at work, to achieve qualifications, to gain places on vocational courses or progress to higher education, to support their children with school homework or for many other reasons
- Our courses for young people help these students make up their minds about their future careers and gain the skills they need. The courses provide English, Maths and Information/Communication Technology classes together with employment preparation and taster sessions for vocational studies

“I get in class and out of class support and it has helped me to achieve a lot over the last 3 years. I’ve had the same person helping me throughout the 3 years, plus others from time to time. Support is a two way thing, the support workers help you understand what you need. I’ve had help with my writing, spelling remembering things using colours, pictures and sequences. I don’t think I could have done my course without it. It’s really boosted my confidence.”
