Governor - Professor Martyn Jones
Chair of the Quality and Performance Committee.
Martyn is currently the Pro-Vice Chancellor for External Relations at Kingston University, London. His academic interests are programme design, business strategy and HRM. He came to Kingston University from the University of Kent where he was the Director of the Business School. Prior to this he was the Head of the School of Management and Business at the University of Wales.
He is a member of the International Accreditation Advisory Board and the International Accreditation Management Board for the Association of MBAs. Academic appointments have been at the Royal Military College of Science at Shrivenham and at Cranfield School of Management, where he was Director of the MBA. Prior to this he was a Colonel in the Army.

Support Staff Governor - Penny Lower
Member of the Audit Committee
Penny is the Continuous Professional Development Manager for the College and is based at Wandsworth. She has been in post since August 2008, moving from Hastings College on the South Coast. She is a trained teacher and has managed teacher education in the past; learner services and a NVQ Centre. Starting in FE in 1986 she has experience pre and post incorporation in a range of roles. In 09/10 she has chaired the L7 Group: Collaboration in Leadership and Management.

Governor - Louise Evatt

Currently a member of the Policy Pool at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), undertaking Project Management and Project Advisor roles as needed. Has also worked for the Department for Energy and Climate and in a range of central Government positions. These include Private Secretary to Ed Miliband MP, Minister for the Third Sector, Assistant Private Secretary to the Rt Hon Ian McCartney, Minister Without Portfolio and Labour Party Chair and Events Manager and Private Secretary to the Head of the e-Government Unit. Previous positions in the private sector with Ogilvy Public Relations, UK and EMDS Consulting GmbH.
Academic Staff Governor - Adedamola Aminu

Adedamola Aminu is a lecturer in Business and Computing at South Thames College. Adedamola is also a local Councillor in Lambeth representing Tulse Hill ward, he is currently the Deputy Cabinet Member for Children and Young People for London Borough of Lambeth, a school governor and Trustee for a charitable organisation. Cllr Aminu currently sits on Joint Meeting of the Appointments, Overview and Scrutiny Committees, School Organisation Advisory Board for the London Borough of Lambeth and other outside bodies such as London Councils - Children and Young Peoples Forum, Reserve Forces and Cadets Association for Greater London. He holds bachelor honour degrees in Business Studies from London Southbank University, Diploma in Marketing from Chartered Institute of Marketing, Masters Degree in Marketing from Greenwich University and Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE cantab).
Cllr Aminu has ten years teaching experience and has lectured at various FE Colleges and sixth forms. He also has taught across a broad range of disciplines notably the Business & IT, Marketing and Management.

Governor - Linda Taylor

Linda has worked in a variety Careers Service roles across the country and internationally, including as Director and General Manager of Kent Careers Services, Chief Executive of Careers Essex, Chief Executive of Connexions South London, and Secretary General of the International Association for Educational and Vocational Guidance (IAEVG)
Linda has been an active member of the Institute of Careers Guidance, as Chairman of the London and South East Branch and twice as a National Council member. She completed a period as a Member on Council for the Careers Services National Association and was also a member of the Board of Governors at Canterbury College.
She has been a member of the government's National Ministerial Apprentice Steering group and an active member of the National Association of Connexions Partnerships, and the London Sector Skills Council.
Currently she Chairs the ‘Go South Go' 2012 Olympic Task group and is a member of the London 2012 Olympic Forum.
During 1994 she was awarded the Freedom of the City of London and in 2004 she was made a Fellow of the Institute of Careers Guidance.
In June 2008 she was mentioned in the Queens birthday honours list and awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for public and voluntary service to young people.

Governor - Cllr Stuart Thom
Member of the Search and Governance Committee
Stuart is a graduate of Edinburgh University and Manchester Business School. He has spent his life in international business, working in Africa, and subsequently joined the Foreign Office where as First Secretary (Commercial) at the British Embassy in Moscow he assisted British exporters promote their products to Russia. He then joined Ernst & Young, the consultants and accountants, to set up their office in Moscow. As Business Development Director he advised clients on how to do business in Russia and Central Asia. He is currently a Wandsworth Councillor for Fairfield Ward, which includes the the South Thames College Wandsworth Campus.
Governor - Andrew Brown

Andrew is currently COO of an investment management business, which he co-founded in 2010. In this role, Andrew has responsibility for finance, operations, IT and risk management. Before this, he worked in banking, in both strategic advisory and operational roles. Andrew started his career in a Corporate Strategy Consultancy after graduating from Cambridge with a Masters of Engineering.
Governor - Yvette Stanley

Yvette has worked in Education and Children’s services since 1986. Having begun her career in the Inner London Education Authority and subsequntly holding senior education management posts in several authorities, she is now Director of Children Schools and Families for Merton.
Yvette has a passion and commitment for education and learning and for ensuring that young people have access to education and learning opportunities that support their personal development into adulthood as well as enabling them to participate actively in the social, economic and civic life of their communities.
