Entry requirements:
This course is for students 19 years old and over.

You will need to attend a formal interview with examples of work in progress, plus one of the following:

  • A BTEC Level 3 qualification in Music Technology or a related discipline
  • A GCE Advanced in Music Production/Technology grades A*-C
  • An Access to Higher Education Certificate
  • Or any other Level 3 Music related qualification

International Students:
EDUCATION: One of the above or and overseas equivalent
LEVEL OF ENGLISH: IELTS: 6.0 (minimum 5.5 in each section) or equivalent.

Course content:

This course caters for students with a background in sound engineering or music programming. You will study production techniques, advanced programming and editing, sound to picture and current developments within the music business.

Students will develop a range of skills, techniques and personal attributes essential for successful performance in working life.

  • Music in Context
  • Creative Arts Research Skills
  • Live Sound for Small Venues
  • Music Business in the 21st Century
  • Music Studio Production
  • Music Technology
Course Structure:

Practical assignments in recording production, sound for picture and computer based production using up-to-date and advanced music technologies. You are also required to produce written projects on the current developments within the music industry with a focus on the law and immerging marketing strategies for music.

Assessment:

The modules for this course are continued assessment.
This is by a series of assignments incorporating: Individual and group exercises/projects; Reports and essays; Presentations
