This course is for students 19 years old and over.

UCAS points: 160 Units: to include two A-Levels or equivalent.
Subjects:
• A2 Chemistry and A2 in one other science (General Studies not accepted)
• AVCE: Science (double award)
• BTEC National: appropriate subjects
• Key skills: points not accepted in tariff
• Plus G CSE (A-C): English Language, Mathematics or equivalent key skills

Course content:

This course is designed to give an introduction to pharmacy, chemistry and the pharmaceutical sciences. There is a strong practical element within the course, which will develop your laboratory techniques. You will also be required to undertake a work placement, which will provide valuable vocational experience and open up new employment opportunities. In addition, students who successfully complete the course can extend their studies for a further year and top-up their qualification to a BSc in Pharmaceutical and Chemical Sciences.


The Pharmaceutical and Chemical Sciences FdSc has been accredited by the General Pharmaceutical Council of G reat Britain to allow graduates of the programme direct entry into the second year of the MPharm Pharmacy programme, subject to study of the appropriate option modules and level of academic attainment.
