Please note all students wishing to take this course need to be 19 years or older at the time of enrolment

There are no specific academic entry requirements for ACCESS
courses. Applicants will be invited to attend an interview where we will assess your suitability for the course and you will have a chance to demonstrate your determination to succeed as well as asking any other questions you may have about the course and your options for progression. During this interview you will be asked undertake an initial assessment to demonstrate Level 2 Literacy and Level 1 Numeracy skills.

Course content:

This course is primarily aimed at students who are seeking appropriate qualifications to enter higher education.


Students will study Chemistry, Physiology, Physics, Study Skills, English, Maths, Nutrition and IT.

Course Structure:

Many approaches to learning are used including individual and small/large group work. Academic and tutorial support is given throughout the course. The course is divided into two semesters: September to early February and February to end of June.

Course resources:

All students have access to our fully equipped state of the art learning centre. This includes free internet access.

Assessment:
Continuous assessment (essays, exams, assignments and presentations).

A Level applicants do not need to apply for specific subjects: your application form is for the A Level programme. We will discuss your subject choices at your interview.

If you are 16-18 years old, this course is free. You may have to pay some materials costs.

If you are aged 19 or older, you may have to pay the "inclusive fee" (which includes the tuition fee, examination fee and exam board registration fee) as shown, plus the College Registration Charge of £30 and any materials costs. To find out if you qualify for reduced fees, read more here
