15 February 2012 Apprenticeships at South Thames College

Are you a small company looking to employ new staff but are worried about the costs? Would a payment of up to £1500 help you to take on a young person as an apprentice? If your answer is ‘yes’, then let South Thames College help you access a government grant of up to £1500 when you employ an apprentice.

By working with South Thames we can help you to recruit the right young person to be a member of your team and train them to meet your requirements.

We train apprentices in a range of job roles: Administration, Civil Engineering, Customer Service, Childcare, Health & Social Care, Hairdressing, Information Management, Motorcycle Maintenance and Dental Nursing. Your company benefits from a young person who will be trained on the job while employed at your place of work and has the experience of a formal college education one day a week (which includes studying English and Maths).

The Apprenticeship Grant for Employers (AGE) is aimed at recruiting 16 to 24 year olds on apprenticeships which will last for at least one year.Subject to meeting certain government criteria you would be paid in two instalments of 50% of the grant. You could employ up to three apprentices and be eligible for three grants.
