Creative Arts studies
South Thames College offers a range of specialist art, design, craft, and new media courses leading to qualifications from entry level up to higher education. These are delivered through extensive specialist studios and workshops including digital computer graphics, photography, fashion and jewellery.
South Thames also offers part time courses in art, fashion, crafts, balloon displays, floristry, design and more, some for qualifications, and some for leisure, personal development or just for fun.
Students have the opportunity to exhibit and sell their work at the College's End of Year Show and other London venues including New Designers at the Business Centre in Islington and the Chelsea Craft Fair.
Students are continually involved in external projects and competitions such as 'Inspired by the V&A Exhibition', the Peugeot Design Award, St George's Hospital and Wandsworth Arts.

Last week the creative industries department hosted a variety of interesting events as part of the Colleges annual Creative Industries Week. This week is a chance for students in the department to showcase and share their work with family and friends.
Activities included making a music video, making a 16mm film, art exhibitions, music performances and screenings from the media students.

South Thames College performing arts student John Boyega has returned to College speaking to drama students about life in the spotlight. John has risen to fame in the new blockbuster hit ‘Attack the Block’. He plays the character of Moses who battles with aliens in this sci-fi production in the same style of ‘Shaun of the Dead’.
