"This is an exciting opportunity for us to be involved in a truly innovative new way to engage with young people and boost their future prospects and progression into better paid work or higher education" said Sue Rimmer, Principal of South Thames College.
"The UK Career Academy Foundation improves prospects for young people as it equips them with both theoretical business and financial knowledge and practical hands on experience to achieve their goals and make informed choices about their futures.
"The impact of real life interaction with business leaders, structured mentoring and paid work experience is truly invaluable - it shows young people how far their studies can take them and is a great confidence booster. We look forward to working with our business partners, employers and The UK Career Academy Foundation to develop our Academy over the coming months."

“I would tell all students to embrace the opportunities they get at South Thames College. If they are able to go on the UK Careers Academy Programme I would encourage them to work very hard and build a new network of friends which will help them in their future careers. My biggest achievement is graduating from the UK Careers Academy Programme and getting a 6 week internship with Lloyds Banking group.”
