Dental Nurse Apprenticeship
"I knew I would have to study for a qualification alongside work and I liked that the apprenticeship was flexible and it was packed into one intense session one day a week, rather than splitting learning to smaller sessions throughout the week. Prior to training to become a dental nurse I was studying at the Brit School but I wanted to do more of a job that would help people and make a difference. I found that Dental Nursing offered this career satisfaction and made a difference in how patients looked and felt. It’s a nice thing to be able to do for people. I have learnt so much on my apprenticeship for instance about orthodontics and braces; we learn procedures even if your own practice doesn’t do it. My confidence has increased a lot and every time I watch the dentist I can see what they’re going to be doing next and I can pre-empt what they might need. The apprenticeship has opened up the doors to more options and future possibilities."
