Entry requirements:
You should check the level of this course to see if it matches your ability. No formal qualifications are required, though students are required to have an interesting in film and music. Basic computer knowledge is also desirable.
Course content:
This seven-week course will aim to provide students with a grounding of the technical and creative skills required to shoot an effective music video. From a song submitted by and selected by members of the group, you will learn how to work with the script, use camera, lighting and sound and take effective responsibility for everything that appears on the screen.
By the end of course you will be able to:
1) Use a digital camera effectively
2) Plan a music video shoot
3) Use the grammar of filmmaking effectively
4) Use lights to convey a certain look and feel
5) Make decisions in the edit to create and effective music video

Course resources:
All students have access to Learning Centres at College Centres. This includes free Internet access. Your practical training will take place in a fully equipped studio.
Assessment:
Assessment will be through practical work. The completed film will be screened at the college and evaluated by all students.

Fees Info
When information is available you will notice 2 different fees stated for this course. The fee you pay is dependent on your status:
  • Fee 1: Standard fee;
  • Fee 2: Aged 60+ years fee
    Students in receipt of an income-based benefit pay £20 per course per term.
    You will need to bring proof of age and any benefits when you enrol.
    You DO NOT have to pay a college registration fee for these courses, but you may have to pay for additional course materials.
    Materials costs:
    Students will be requested to bring their own tapes and DVDs.
