It is designed to help you develop the study skills, knowledge and confidence that are essential for students who plan to progress to a Level 3 Access course and beyond.

  • Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector

    City & Guilds 7303 Certificate (PTLLS) - Level 3/4

    The PTLLS course is the Government’s ‘threshold certificate’. It is the minimum teaching qualification candidates should hold before beginning to teach or train in the Lifelong Learning Sector. As such, it is very useful for those looking for their first part-time hours in teaching

  • Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector

    Year 1 Diploma (awarded by Canterbury Christchurch University) - Level 4/5

    This represents the first year of the two years it takes to become fully qualified to teach or train adults. It conforms to the new Government standards for teacher training. It will provide access to the second year and will also allow achievement of the Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) award and the Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS) award.

    Year 2 Diploma / PGCE - Level 5/6

    The Year 2 of the Diploma leads to fully qualified teacher status in the lifelong learning sector. It conforms to the new Government standards for teacher training. If you are a graduate you will be able to achieve at HE Level 6, meaning you will be awarded the Professional Graduate Certificate in Education
