Construction & Electrical

The construction and electrical training provided at South Thames College is designed to give your staff the skills and qualifications they need, not only to meet the necessary industry standard legislation but also to help them progress in their career.

Students receive a combination of theoretical and practical work instruction from the 17th Edition right through to Inspection and Testing and CSCS Cards.

Workshops are continuously updated to ensure that students have access to the most u[-to-date thinking and practice.

The following are amongst our most frequently delivered courses:

IEE Wiring Regulations

This 30 hour course in intended for practising electricians who wish to update their knowledge of wiring regulations or gain a formal qualification for employment reason.  This qualification, except for the exam, can be run onsite or offsite according to your requirements and take place either one day per week or for one full week.

Inspection and Testing

This 30 hour course (one week long) is aimed at those who are directly involved in inspection and testing of electrical installations to BS7671 (17th Edition) and those who require certification, possibly for NICEIC purposes.  The five-day programme takes place at our Wandsworth site and covers the requirements for inspection, testing and certification, practical demonstration of certain tests, "hands-on" sessions and preparation for practical assessment and written examination.

Health and Safety (CSCS Tests)

If your employees work on a construction site, holding a CSCS card proves that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to do the job.  Having a CSCS carded workforce improves your quality of service, provides a solid foundation for your training and development programme and ensures that health and safety awareness remains current.  We are a CSCS approved test centre so if your employees are ready to take the test this can be arranged with 7 days notice.
