Single Equality Scheme
South Thames College in London is committed to the active promotion of Equalities and Diversity through its courses and all areas of the College's life.
We are pleased to announce our new Single Equalities Scheme and action plan, which takes forward our commitment in one unified document.

We would welcome any feedback or comments you may have to improve this scheme and the actions we can take to improve equalities for all our staff and learners. We consulted with staff, students and the community in 2010 and incorporated feedback into a final version for publication. The policy will be revised and updated over time.
If you wish to comment or make suggestions, please contact Janet Smith, Deputy Principal Curriculum and Quality either by telephone 0208 8918 7028, email janet.smith@south-thames.ac.uk or by post at the College's Wandsworth site at High Street, Wandsworth, London SW18 2PP.

Olivia Pelling, Musical Instrument Making
“I chose the Musical Instrument programme because it was very hands on and I wanted a programme where I was going to actually make instruments in addition to studying the theories. I was able to make 3 instruments, learn many repairs including bow care; learn about acoustics and also business management. The course enabled me to become what I am now, a luthier. Since I finished the course, I immediately went and did an apprenticeship in a violin workshop and following that, have now have opened my own business, which is doing well.”
