Get Involved With Your College

South Thames College listening to you

Student Voice

South Thames College believes in listening to learners' views and offering a variety of opportunities for learners to have direct involvement in assessing and shaping their own learning experience.

How can you be involved?

You can help by:

  • Participating in one-to-one reviews, completing an individual learning plan (ILP) and individual tutorials.
  • Being elected as a Course Representative and take part in Centre Learner Forums
  • Being elected on to the Student Union or assist with SU activities and events
  • Being elected as a Student Governor
  • Becoming a Student Ambassador and assist with College events eg Open days and Parent/Carer evenings.
  • Joining in College activities or events such as College Choir, College Football Team or events such as Black History Month Talent Show.

We want you to know that we will listen to your views and that they will make a difference to life at the college.  Feeding back changes is essential and this is provided through:

  • Individual progress reviews and tutorials
  • Group tutorials
  • Termly Centre Learner Forums
  • Termly Student Newsletters at each centre
  • Displays of changes as a result of Learner Satisfaction Surveys
  • Learner Conference in the Spring Term

Equality and Diversity

Equality and opportunity to participate in learner involvement activities is offered to all our learners, although this may involve different actions depending on the needs of each individual learner.
