English Top-Up classes
KEY INFORMATION
These are additional classes that you can take with your main morning 15 hours per week English studies. In addition to helping you learn English more quickly, you will study with some of our "part-time" students who are in London for a wide range of reasons.
BUSINESS ENGLISH
(5 hours per week)
• If you take General or Academic English classes in the morning, you can add this to your study programme.
• 2 afternoons.

WRITING SKILLS
(3 hours per week)
• For Intermediate and upper intermediate level students.
• Includes additional writing preparation for Cambridge English exams.

SPEAKING and PRONUNCIATION
(3 hours per week)
• For lower level students - Elementary to Intermediate.
• 2 afternoons x 10 weeks, 30 hours total.

BRITISH STUDIES
• Upper Intermediate and Advanced levels.
• Learn more about British society and culture. Content includes: British and Anglo-Irish literature and drama; ‘pop-Britain'- music, fashion etc. from the 1960s to now; immigration in the UK; general history of the English language and much more.
• 3 hours per week (2 afternoons) x 10 weeks, 30 hours total.

WORK SKILLS
• Upper Intermediate and Advanced levels.
• This course relates to your work experience or to moving onto a new job/career. Course content includes: guidance on the UK job application process and expectations of employers, CV preparation and interview techniques, presentations for work and career development. Work for the Edexcel WorkSkills Certificate, level 3.
• 3 hours per week (2 afternoons) x 10 weeks, 30 hours total.

TEACHING KNOWLEDGE TEST
• Good Intermediate and above levels.
• This course prepares you for the Cambridge Teaching Knowledge Test - TKT - if you want to bring your English up to the level required for Cambridge CELTA. Content includes: methodology, classroom management, language awareness (grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, etc.).
• 4 hours per week (Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, 14:00-16:00) x 10 weeks.
