What does South Thames College do?
We provide education and training...and lots of it! School groups, 16-19 year olds, mature students, leisure courses, international students, degree-level work and specialised training for employers...we cover all this and more. Where is South Thames College?
We are in various locations in south London, UK. Our major sites are at Wandsworth High Street, Merton and Tooting. We have various smaller centres across the area for part-time and leisure classes and for Prince's Trust Team Programmes.
Is Merton College now part of South Thames College?
Yes, the colleges merged in 2009. The site that used to be known as Merton College is now South Thames College's Merton Campus (located in Morden, Surrey). The Merton Campus continues to offer a full range of courses and services and in 2011 had more courses and students than ever before. Read more here.
Can I apply on-line?
Yes, you can for most courses. Find the course you want from the courses section, and if you can apply on this web site, an 'apply now' button will appear. If you cannot apply on-line, instructions will appear, or you can email on studentservices@south-thames.ac.uk or call 020 8918 7777. You cannot currently pay for courses on-line, we are aiming to introduce this for some courses during 2011.
How is the College rated?
South Thames College is inspected by Ofsted. Recent inspections have seen us rated 'good' with outstanding features. You can find our full inspection reports on the Ofsted website.
Our Higher Education is reviewed by the QAA. At their last inspection in 2010 they awarded South Thames College the highest possible rating ('confidence'.) You can read our QAA reports on their website.
