South Thames College has a range of English language courses for International students. English language courses are taught at the Wandsworth campus, and there is a maximum class size of 22 students. The EIS department was rated 'outsanding' by Ofsted inspectors. Prepare for a qualification such as Cambridge First or Advanced Certificate. We are a major centre for Cambridge English Examinations.
Cambridge English, Europe's largest examination agency, is part of Cambridge Assessment, a department of the University of Cambridge.
Cambridge English exams are recognised and accepted, and often required, by employers, academic institutions & authorities in most countries. Most of these exams are accredited by the UK Qualifications & Curriculum Authority (QCA), in the UK National Qualification Framework - NQF. Our registration fees for Cambridge English exams are currently £25 - £100.
Academic English/ IELTS
We also prepare many students for IELTS, the International English Language Testing System. IELTS is the main English language entry requirement for academic study and professional registration in the UK. It is managed by the British Council, Cambridge English and IDP Education Australia. It is accredited by the UK QCA as part of the UK NQF.
UK, Australian, Canadian, New Zealand and American colleges & universities usually accept a specified IELTS score for admissions; most require one. IELTS is also required or recognised by professional and immigration authorities in a number of countries.
IELTS is normally available at STCL four times each year. The IELTS entry fee is currently about £100.
English for International Business
Develops professional communication to help you work in an international environment. Prepare for Business English Certificates.

These are additional classes that you can take to supplement your main morning classes. Options include writing skills, speaking and pronunciation, and work skills.
