An accountancy experience is great if you're thinking about becoming a chartered accountant and want to get hands-on experience by learning on the job.
You'll pick up vital skills and knowledge including:
- Making and recording payments
- Recording income and receipts
- Preparing balance sheets
- Using computerised accounts and IT.
You'll also learn about employer rights and responsibilities and study functional skills in maths, English and IT. You'll leave with a Level 3 Diploma in accountancy if you complete the apprenticeship successfully.
The name of the course, as it appears on your qualification or certificate, will be Accountancy Apprenticeship
A mixture of workplace observation and college-based observation, portfolio building and online exams.
To become an accountancy apprentice with us, you must:
- Have four GCSE grades A*-C including maths and English; OR a Level 2 accounting qualification; OR relevant experience
- Be 16 or older
- Be legally allowed to work in the UK
- Have lived in the UK for the last three years
- Have no qualifications at Level 4 or higher eg a HNC.
Remember that you may need to invest in some smart clothing appropriate to an office environment. Our team will discuss this with you and any items you need for college.
You could go straight into work after your apprenticeship we have contacts with many local employers so we often know when a job is available. And many apprentices stay on with the company they were apprenticed to. You'll be able to talk to your apprenticeship assessor about the options available to you.
