If you're starting or already run a small business in translation and interpreting, this workshop will teach you to manage your business effectively.
The course covers:
- Preparing an invoice
- Organising your business
- Tracking client payments
- Calculating income and outgoings
- Understanding tax for self employment eg taxable profit and deductable expenses.
There may be materials you need to help with your studies. You'll either make a one-off payment for these when you enrol, or you'll buy them during the course. Your tutor will talk to you about this at interview or in your first class (if you don't need an interview).
Depending on your course and circumstances, you may be able to get funding to help with materials fees. Please check with us when you come in for interview or enrolment.
You could learn further skills by taking a further business management course at the college. You could also try a digital marketing or e-commerce course if you want to set up your business online.
