If you want to take your first step towards a career in the sport and leisure industry, then this course will give you practical knowledge and theory of sport. You'll combine class-based study with fitness and sport training and learn through visits to sporting venues - like premiership football stadiums. You could also be involved in volunteering activities like coaching at primary schools to give you direct experience of what it's like to lead sporting and coaching activities. This experience can increase your employability and has in the past led to part-time paid work for our students too.
- How the body works
- Improving your own fitness
- Working in sport and leisure
- Risks and hazards in sport and leisure.
The name of the course, as it appears on your qualification or certificate, will be Diploma in Sport and Active Leisure - Level 1
