Now’s the time to plan your future. We’ve got lots of courses and plenty to get you ready for a career. There’s more choice than you might be used to at school - from business to music technology and hair and beauty to construction.
We prepare you for working life with practical skills too. And you do this in real working conditions like those in our hair and beauty salons, radio and tv recording studios and construction workshops. Whatever course you opt for you’ll end up with a qualification to take onto university or work.
Sheila, Cake decorating
As a carer to her daughter who has Asperger's syndrome and disabled son, Sheila found the course a great way to learn something new and spend a little time focusing on herself.
"What started out as a few precious hours to myself has brought me into another world and I have developed skills I didn't realise I had.
“I've had designs published in cake decorating magazines, have won competitions for my designs and now regularly take commissions for cakes.”
Julieta Ahmedze, Business Level 3. Graduated 2014
After winning £1,000 at a Student Enterprise Conference, Julieta’s oxygen cocktail business, OxyOse, has been nominated for three awards at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards.
“I can't recommend South Thames College enough - it's brilliant. I developed my business plan in class during my first year, and my course taught me all about marketing and how to get my product out there. Everything I've learned at the college has really helped me with my own business, OxyOse.”
