This course will build your confidence using a computer through guided step-by-step teaching. It will introduce you to the Essential Digital Skills Qualification. This course is part of our non-accredited Essential Digitals Skills offer, designed to support you build confidence and develop the skills and knowledge needed to become a competent user in the modern digital world.

    Introduction to Essential Digital Skills including:

    • Processing a document in Microsoft Word - how to create, save and print
    • Learn the basics of how to use Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
    • How to use tools to edit your text such as spellcheck, cut, copy and paste
    • How to format your document using page numbers, colour, tables, symbols, shapes, borders, images Word art, headers, and footers

    You will complete individual practical tasks in class using a computer. There will be class discussions to help you understand and share ideas, and you will do some work in pairs or small groups.
