
AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting - Level 2
Introduction
This part-time Level 2 course covers accounting methods and principles, giving you the skills, knowledge and understanding to progress to a career in accounting. You'll get to develop your skills in financial administration, double entry-bookkeeping, basic costing principles and purchases, sales and general ledgers.
Assessment
You'll be assessed throughout the year through computer-based assessments and projects.
Entry Requirements
You should be between 16-19 at the start of this course with:
- Maths and English GCSE grade A*-C / 9-4; OR
- Functional Skills Level 2; OR
- Other relevant qualifications may be considered on a case-by-case basis and will be discussed during your interview.
Materials
You'll need to join the AAT to take the AAT exams. AAT membership has plenty of benefits including access to essential accounting resources on career development, technical training, network meetings and a quarterly journal. For current membership and exam prices, please check the AAT website or speak to your tutor. There are a selection of books youll need for your studies. You can buy these from the college at a discounted rate. Your tutor will confirm costs with you when you start the course.
