Life drawing classes are an excellent way to develop your drawing and observational skills. You'll experiment using different mediums and methods to build your confidence and develop your own artistic style.
The course begins with exercises to help you add a sense of structure, form and movement to your drawings. You'll also learn to depict tonal colour using a limited palette of paint. Although the course is structured, you're encouraged to take your own individual approach to each drawing and activity.
You'll receive one to one teaching during the sessions. There will also be group work so you can discuss your work with your classmates.
There is a materials fee to cover the cost of the models used on the course. Please bring your own pencils, paints and any other materials you want to use. You can purchase paper from your tutor. Your tutor will advise you on any additional materials you need after the first session.
A number of our students use these classes as an opportunity to build up a portfolio of work for art school interviews. Others have found the studies helpful in range of courses and professions including animation, illustration, graphic design and architecture.
All courses run subject to demand and the content listed here should be used as a guide only. Course content may vary according to a range of factors such as course duration, campus, teaching staff and requirements from awarding bodies. Check our course and fee guidelines for further details.
