Our craft courses will teach you a range of creative skills you can use to start a small business making and selling your own unique products. They're also a great way to improve your dexterity, meet new people and develop an interest.
Learn all aspects of ceramics making from core hand-building skills, glazing and decoration to the more complex art of throwing on the wheel. This course is open to complete beginners.
Each term students will study and research a key ceramicist, or style in the historyof ceramics.
The tutor will advise you on the aesthetics of a form and ensure your work is successful in the making. There is no certification.
This course is a perfect introduction to pottery.
There may be materials you need to help with your studies. You'll either make a one-off payment for these when you enrol, or you'll buy them during the course. Your tutor will talk to you about this at interview or in your first class (if you don't need an interview).
Depending on your course and circumstances, you may be able to get funding to help with materials fees. Please check with us when you come in for interview or enrolment.

What can I earn?
You can progress at your own pace during the course, with plenty of encouragement to think outside of the box to explore ceramic forms and surfaces in a different way. There is friendly peer support within the group where we share our technical skills and knowledge, and discuss contemporary and historical ceramics.
