The How to become an Interior designer course will provide you with a detailed knowledge of the inspiring world of interiors.
The course focuses on the fundamentals of residential interiors and will provide you with the skills you need to design your own project or to start your own business. It will even give you the confidence to move on to study a degree in Interior Design and embark on a new career!
The course covers subjects such as creating design concepts, space planning, colour, lighting, decorative textiles and interior finishes. It will give you an understanding of the components involved in designing residential interiors and puts a strong focus on the design process. It is not simply about the theory of interior design. It is also about practical work in interior design, managing a project, meeting a clients needs and developing visual communication skills about the design of schemes.
The course will include 3 modules that are designed to be sequential. Each module is 5 hours long with a lunch break There are assignments at the end of each module which will require you to participate in the design experience. The assignments are designed to help you build your first professional portfolio.
Assessment is on-going with teacher feedback, self assessment and individual learning plans.
There are no entry requirements for this course.
Students will need to provide paper and drawing materials. teacher will advise at first class.
