If you want to get started in art and design, this course helps you look at the creative process and principles of art and design but not in a rigid course structure. Your projects, which last from two to six weeks, help you apply new skills in more and more complex ways to push your learning.
And there'll be plenty of visits to galleries, museums and exhibition spaces to open up your eyes to new ideas and practices.
Assessment will take place at the end of each project, every four to six weeks. You'll also be assessed through individual and group presentations.
Three GCSEs A*-D / 9-3 including English or maths; OR a relevant Level 1 qualification with appropriate levels of English and maths.
You'll also need to provide a portfolio of art and design work at interview - which could include sketchbooks, drawings, etc. If you don't have a portfolio, we may ask you to complete some practical tasks as part of your interview to make sure the course is a good match for you.
You'll buy an art kit and this provides a variety of resources worth more than the cost - payment is assessed on your circumstances.
