The Illustration course is all about drawing stories. Learn how to use visual narrative and to storyboard your ideas
You will explore materials, including digital media to gain confidence in character development, layout and composition and understand the relationship between illustration and text.
Topics covered: Characters and expression. Materials and approaches to illustration. Drawing activity -responding to text/phrases. Exploring the possibilities of the digital processes.
You will aim to complete a series of illustrations or have developed ideas and some artwork for a picture book.
Assessment is on-going with teacher feedback, self assessment and individual learning plans.
There are no entry requirements for this course.
There may be materials you need to help with your studies. You'll either make a one-off payment for these when you enrol, or you'll buy them during the course. Your tutor will talk to you about this at interview or in your first class (if you don't need an interview).
Depending on your course and circumstances, you may be able to get funding to help with materials fees. Please check with us when you come in for interview or enrolment.
