Our cake decorating courses will teach you professional skills that will prepare you well to set up your own business or for progression to further study on our accredited cake decorating courses.
Learn to craft beautifully decorated cakes to a professional standard. This course covers a range of techniques you can use to create intricate embellishments and unique designs and gives you space to practise your skills and share ideas.
The course content may vary according to the preferences of the class, but could include:
- Modelling using sugar paste
- 3D designs
- Stacked cakes
- Piped flowers
- Using edible glitter
- Using marzipan
- Adding colour
- Assembling and arranging cakes and decorations.
Your teacher will give you feedback and advice. You'll work with your classmates to evaluate each other's work. You'll also complete an individual learning plan.
This course is open to beginners, but will also help you if you have experience decorating cakes and want to try new techniques and develop your skills.
Some materials, like icing sugar, and small items of equipment may need to be purchased as the course progresses. This will be discussed at the start of the course.
