A Clinical Healthcare Support apprenticeship is an ideal way to begin, or build on, a rewarding career. Youll learn on the job and in college. This apprenticeship covers a wide range of job roles in hospitals and clinical healthcare settings such as GP surgeries, nursing homes, hospices and private clinics. Directed by the qualified nurse, youll be supporting patients with all activities of daily living. This apprenticeship will help you learn key transferable skills and get an insight into areas like:
- Personal development
- Equality and diversity
- Handling information
- Duty of care
You'll also learn about employee rights and responsibilities and study functional skills in Maths and English. You'll leave the course with a qualification in Clinical Healthcare Support.

A mixture of workplace observation and college-based observation, portfolio building and online exams.
To become an apprentice with us, you must:
- Be 16 or older
- Be legally allowed to work in the UK
- Have lived in the UK for the last three years
- Have no qualifications at Level 4 or higher eg a HNC.
Remember that you may need to invest in some comfortable shoes. Our team will discuss this with you and any items you need for college.
Most of our apprentices stay on with their employers after they finish their course. With the help of your employer you may be able to progress onto the next apprenticeship level if available. If not we have links with many local employers who may be looking for new employees. Youll be able to talk to your assessor about your options.
