If you've completed the introductory computing course, or if you have some experience using software and a computer then this course is an excellent step towards making the most of your computer and the internet.
By the end of this course you'll be able to:
- Open a web browser and visit websites to find target information
- Use a search engines (e.g. Google)
- Set up an email account
- Send and receive emails
- Print documents, change the page layout, insert charts, symbols, shapes and tables, insert pictures and clip art and use Word Art
- Use the cut, copy and paste features.
Homework forms part of this course and you'll be expected to complete some work outside of lessons.
You should have basic knowledge of software and using a computer.
There may be materials you need to help with your studies. You'll either make a one-off payment for these when you enrol, or you'll buy them during the course. Your tutor will talk to you about this at interview or in your first class (if you don't need an interview).
Depending on your course and circumstances, you may be able to get funding to help with materials fees. Please check with us when you come in for interview or enrolment.
