Touch typing is an essential skill to have if you work in office administration, particularly with secretarial duties or to send email. People writing long articles or books will also need this skill.
By the end of the course you'll be able to:
Be more confident in typing without looking at the keyboard (using the key-letters)
Know the fundamentals of touch typing
Type without looking at your fingers while you type
Be faster and more accurate in your typing
- Faster and more productive use of your computer, whether typing letters or composing emails.
You'll complete individual practical tasks in class using a computer. There will be class discussions to help you understand and share ideas, and you'll do some work in pairs or small groups. There will be homework assignments.
This course is for beginners
There may be materials you need to help with your studies. You'll either make a one-off payment for these when you enrol, or you'll buy them during the course. Your tutor will talk to you about this at interview or in your first class (if you don't need an interview).
Depending on your course and circumstances, you may be able to get funding to help with materials fees. Please check with us when you come in for interview or enrolment.
