This intensive five-session course will cover the skills and techniques needed to create an effective script for film and video, paying particular attention to feature films. 1) Story Concepts; Developing Ideas; Characterisation 2) Character Development; Structure; Deep Structure 3) Packaging; Marketing; Selling the Script
By the end of the course you will be able to: 1) Use techniques to create and develop your story idea 2) Identify and explain character dimensions 3) Create at least three ideas for a feature film and two for short film projects 4) Identify and explain ways to approach writing the script 5) Format your script correctly 6) Identify and explain ways to market your script upon completion
Assessment will be through completed tasks.
Diagnostic assessment of key skills will be provided to ensure you are successful in your studies.
There may be materials you need to help with your studies. You'll either make a one-off payment for these when you enrol, or you'll buy them during the course. Your tutor will talk to you about this at interview or in your first class (if you don't need an interview).
