This is a one-year access course for those who are 19+ and interested in the Creative and Digital media industry such as Games Design, Animation and Web design and development.
As a learner this course will give you a coherent, integrated and supported year of study through which you will gain the knowledge, awareness, skills and confidence necessary for successful undergraduate study in a range of creative and digital media related university progression routes.
The course covers a full range of modern digital media technologies in both practical and theoretical aspects, including filmmaking, animation, photography, web design, and graphic design.
There are 60 credits to this diploma: 15 for study skills and 45 subject credits that will focus on theory and practical aspects gained from a selection of modules including animation, digital effects for film and animation, photography as well as study skills.
All of our tutors are experienced filmmakers, animators, graphic designers, photographers and games design specialists. They are industry experts and experienced, qualified teachers who bring real-life expertise to the classroom. They will work with you closely to develop your skills and help you build a strong portfolio to show off your emerging skills and interests.
The course will be assessed in many different ways such as through portfolio, presentations and project work.
You must be aged 19 or over to apply for any of the Access Diplomas. For most Diplomas you need GCSE English and Maths (grade C or above) or the equivalent to enter the course. You must also demonstrate a commitment to, and interest in your chosen subject.

There is a material fee and covers equipment that you will need to use whilst at college.
You can progress to study a variety of creative media and digital design Degree programmes at many London Universities. There are also many other courses at South Thames that you could progress onto if you wish to stay with us.
