The UAL Level 2 in Games Design is an exciting and practical course designed to give you the fundamental drawing and evaluation skills needed to progress onto a L3 in Games or other creative subject. On the course you will design 2D Game levels using Adobe Photoshop and Construct 3 Game Engine, and learn to use visual scripting to add interactivity and bring your original game ideas to life.
You will also study the history of the videogame industry, write reviews of videogames and learn about job roles and the differences between AAA and independent studios.
On successful completion of the L2 at Merit or Distinction level, you will be offered the opportunity to progress onto the Level 3 in Games.
There may be materials you need to help with your studies. You'll either make a one-off payment for these when you enrol, or you'll buy them during the course. Your tutor will talk to you about this at interview or in your first class (if you don't need an interview).
Depending on your course and circumstances, you may be able to get funding to help with materials fees. Please check with us when you come in for interview or enrolment.
