If you want a career in the beauty industry, this course will give an in-depth understanding of make-up artistry and will focus on the fashion and photographic industry requirements.
- Diagnosis of skin types and restrictions to treatment
- Choice of model and use of various resources to create desired effects
- Use of shading and highlighting to enhance features
- Application of wedding, day, corrective, evening, fashion, photographic and period make-up.
The course uses practical and theoretical delivery with assignments throughout and practical assessments at the end of the year.
Assessment comes in the form of practical assessments, (for which you must provide models), written papers, online tests and assignments.
No formal qualifications are needed but you must have a good level of English to build your assignments and a portfolio of evidence. You'll also need to attend an interview.
There may be materials you need to help with your studies. You'll either make a one-off payment for these when you enrol, or you'll buy them during the course. Your tutor will talk to you about this at interview or in your first class (if you don't need an interview).
Depending on your course and circumstances, you may be able to get funding to help with materials fees. Please check with us when you come in for interview or enrolment.
