The Level 3 Certificate in Health and Social Care is a practical, work-related course which will give you the knowledge, understanding and skills that you need to prepare for employment. The course provides career development opportunities and progression opportunities to higher education. Work placement is an essential and mandatory part of the course and is well regarded by universities and employers.
You will have the opportunity to go on field trips to relevant exhibitions and events and have the chance to hear from professionals like midwifes and nurses to discuss career paths and skills needed for these different careers.
You will be assessed through a range of assessment methods including assignments, projects, presentations, professional discussions and in-class assessments. You will also be required to pass an external assessment (exam).
Four GCSEs A*-C/9-4 including English and mathematics; OR a relevant Level 2 qualification plus English and mathematics assessed by us to be at an appropriate level. Selection is by interview with a lecturer and a satisfactory reference from your last school or college is essential.
There may be materials you need to help you with your studies. Your lecturer will talk to you about this at interview or in your first class.
You will need to pay for your DBS check. This is normally paid at enrolment.
You may progress to Level 3 CACHE Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care or consider further training or study in related fields such as an Apprenticeship or employment. Selection is by interview and a satisfactory reference is required.
