This day workshop is for anyone who wants to write poetry and understand it better. We will read, discuss and write poems guided by stimulating writing exercises in a fun and supportive environment.
The practice of writing poetry encourages imaginative use of language and clarity of thought and expression. Whether you are a new or aspiring poet, or you just want to develop your skills to help with prose and technical writing, this short course is for you.
No knowledge or experience of poetry is necessary.
Good spoken and written English.
There may be materials you need to help with your studies. You'll either make a one-off payment for these when you enrol, or you'll buy them during the course. Your tutor will talk to you about this at interview or in your first class (if you don't need an interview).
Depending on your course and circumstances, you may be able to get funding to help with materials fees. Please check with us when you come in for interview or enrolment.
