A lively course which aims to introduce you to the basic aspects of the Italian language and to enable you to take part in simple conversations. No previous knowledge of Italian required.
Content: Based on Chapters 1-2 of Nuovo Espresso 1 (IF) (Alma Edizioni - Italian version)
Topics: greetings; introductions; alphabet and spelling; numbers; the time; say how you are; the restaurant;
Grammar: the verbs to be, to have; the formal and informal way of addressing someone; the present tense; the negative.
- Greet people
- Introduce yourself
- Exchange personal information (name, nationality, job, etc.)
- Ask and tell your age
The course is based on the communicative approach:
- Active students interaction
- Emphasis on speaking and listening skills
- Pair and group work
- Role plays
- Use of pictures and authentic material
- Use of audio-visual techniques
There may be materials you need to help with your studies. You'll either make a one-off payment for these when you enrol, or you'll buy them during the course. Your tutor will talk to you about this at interview or in your first class (if you don't need an interview).
