This course is being taught online during the Summer 2020 Term.
This course is for non-native (ESOL) students who want to develop their language skills. The course will develop grammar and communication skills in a context appropriate for parents with school age children.
The course will include the following: Develop your vocabulary and grammar Learn how to use tenses accurately Write formal letters and fill in forms Improve your fluency and accuracy in speaking You will develop your language skills and confidence to participate in the life of the school. You will be supported to get involved with school social and educational events. The level of the course will be decided at the initial assessment.
You will agree individual targets for your language development with your teacher at the start of the course
You will be given an initial assessment in your first class. This will include a piece of writing, a reading task and a speaking activity. If the level of the class is appropriate for you, you will be invited to join the group.
There may be materials you need to help with your studies. You'll either make a one-off payment for these when you enrol, or you'll buy them during the course. Your tutor will talk to you about this at interview or in your first class (if you don't need an interview).
Depending on your course and circumstances, you may be able to get funding to help with materials fees. Please check with us when you come in for interview or enrolment.
