Do you want to become more confident at maths? This course is for students who would like to learn more about fractions, decimals and measurements and how to apply these to everyday situations.
This course will improve your skills and give you confidence with: Solving problems using multiplication and division Fractions Decimals Recognising number patterns Interpreting data Using measurements You will have an opportunity to take a maths qualification in the following course
You will agree individual targets for your maths skills development with your teacher at the start of the course
You will be given a BKSB test at the start of the course to establish your level of maths and to ensure that you work at the correct level.
There may be materials you need to help with your studies. You'll either make a one-off payment for these when you enrol, or you'll buy them during the course. Your tutor will talk to you about this at interview or in your first class (if you don't need an interview).
Depending on your course and circumstances, you may be able to get funding to help with materials fees. Please check with us when you come in for interview or enrolment.
You will be invited to join the follow-up course and take an Edexcel exam at the end.
