Preparation For Life in UK Test - All Levels

Introduction

If you are applying to become a British Citizen or for indefinite leave to remain, you will need to show that you know about life in the UK. This course will help you prepare for the test.

Our course helps prospective candidates to understand the Life in the UK Test book, classes are conducted in a friendly atmosphere, taking into consideration people who find it hard to study on their own or have English as a second language

Our classes focus on the official handbook: Life in the United Kingdom A Guide For New Resident. The topics covered are the testable chapters and include:

  • The process of becoming a citizen or permanent resident
  • The value and principles of the UK
  • Traditions and culture from around the UK
  • The events and people that have shaped the UK’s history
  • The government and the law
  • Getting involved in your community

Assessment

Tutor feedback, individual learning plans, peer and self-assessment.

Please note that we do not provide Life in the UK Test in our college. We only offer a preparation course.

Entry Requirements

To benefit from this course you will need a good standard of written and spoken English (ESOL Entry 3 - CEFR English level B1 or above)

Materials

There may be materials you need to help with your studies. You'll either make a one-off payment for these when you enrol, or you'll buy them during the course. Your tutor will talk to you about this at interview or in your first class (if you don't need an interview).

Depending on your course and circumstances, you may be able to get funding to help with materials fees. Please check with us when you come in for interview or enrolment.
