This course is being taught online during the Summer 2020 Term.
This 3 week online course provides a brief introduction on how to become a teaching assistant. It will give an outline of the duties carried out and skills needed to undertake such a role, as well as providing information on how to progress further in this area in terms of next steps. It will also touch on the importance of safeguarding and provide students with an understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion in an educational setting. Although the introduction will not provide a qualification, there will be the opportunity to complete a level 2 distance learning certificate entitled 'Understanding Common Childhood Illnesses'.

Access to a PC and internet connection; own writing materials.
Progress to a Level 1 teaching assistant course.
