Teaching and Training
Our undergraduate courses are a flexible, competitively-priced alternative to university. Study for one, two or three years and at the end of each year achieve an industry-recognised qualification with our HNCs, HNDs and foundation degrees in a diverse range of subjects from Business to Games Animation.
For eligible students, tuition fee loans and maintenance loans are available. All of these become repayable only when you are working and earning over £25,000.
Our students have a diverse range of backgrounds, many of them not having studied A-levels but instead arriving with significant real-world experience. Courses are career-focused with teaching from industry specialists, and many have work placements to give you a real understanding of your chosen field. Employers value the professional relevance of HNCs and HNDs so you know you'll graduate with a qualification to set you on the right path to your chosen career.
Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA)
If you have a disability, mental health condition or learning difficulty and are on a higher education course, you may be eligible for funding to help with your studies called Disabled Students' Allowance. It does not need to be repaid.
"I chose South Thames College because of the great facilities on offer - the libraries, HE study centre and online resources are excellent. The tutors are also really helpful and their backgrounds in industry meant we had a wealth of knowledge to draw on. I wanted to develop my knowledge of business and the course at South Thames allowed me to study many different aspects like marketing and economics. I felt the course has prepared me for the working environment and really developed my leadership, public speaking and presentation skills, as well as techniques on how to motivate team members."
