The £5.7m facility, based at the College’s Merton Campus, opens on September 4 and will offer courses for all ages, from beginner to university-level.
Wallace, who lives in nearby Putney where he runs café restaurant Wallace&Co, toured the modern facilities to see just what was on offer to the next generation of catering and hospitality professionals. He was impressed by what he saw.

South Thames College has been voted the number one college in inner London for satisfaction amongst higher education students, according to the results of the 2013 National Student Survey (NSS).
The College scored a hugely impressive 94% satisfaction rate in this year's nationwide survey which covers final-year undergraduates at all UK higher education institutions. The results put South Thames equal 5th out of 165 further education colleges nationally that provide university-level courses, and the top college within the inner London boroughs.
