An outstanding performance from Raquel Cole who picked up the Gold in Afro Caribbean Hairdressing advanced category. Silver awards were held by Sam Stott and Tanya Grant in Games Development and Afro Caribbean Hairdressing intermediate respectively and Sabrina Hilaire in Afro Caribbean Hairdressing intermediate.

The World Skills UK competitions are open to apprentices, employers and learners with the aim to raise the standards of skills in the UK. South Thames has an outstanding track record in competing, Raquel's Gold being the fifth in five years. The closing ceremony was a glittering event and was a fitting way to acknowledge the skill and application for the learners that took part.
