Music students pitch their tracks

Pop Music comp web storyAn online music library has offered our students the chance to submit their tracks for the chance to be used commercially.

Pop-up Music will select the best for licensing through the music library for commercial use in TV, advertising, films or gaming. The winner will have their joining fee for to the Performing Rights Society (PRS) paid by the college.

Toby Clark, Curriculum Manager for Music and Performing Arts said: "This is real industry experience for our students that will give them great exposure. Pop-up Music's tracks have been used in adverts for Adidas and Shell so it's a really exciting opportunity that will hopefully open many doors."

Pop-up Music houses a diverse music library consisting of original songs produced by real musicians. Unlike many other music libraries who usually offer a 50/50 split, Pop-up Music offers musicians 70% of the profit they make from people purchasing the tracks from their library.

Sky have also just signed Pop-up Music's library for use in their TV and media productions so watch this space!
