Introduction To Phonics
This 2 hour workshop will help learners who are either supporting children with phonics either at home or in a school.
This course is for those aged over 19 years of age

Course Content
The workshop will cover: What is meant by phonics and the methods currently used in schools How to "sound out" the different phonic sounds The stages of teaching phonics Activities that can be used to support the learning of phonics both at home and at school -

Course Structure
The majority of the workshop will be teacher led with PowerPoint slides (a paper copy will be provided for each learner). We will also watch some short YouTube clips. There will be some very short written tasks to complete in pairs so please bring a pen and paper to the session.
