Made to Sell - Photography

This is an ideal short photography course for anyone who runs a small business or is thinking of a career change, but wants to learn how to create their own photographs to promote their products or services to sell.

  • Entry Requirements


    No formal qualifications are required. Basic photography skills would be helpful, but are not essential.

  • Course Content


    By the end of this course, you will be able to:

    Research into similar products or services and the type of photography used. Research into how photography is used online, in person or at a market, as well as for business cards and promotional literature. Learn how to make use of mobile phone, compact or DSLR type cameras. Learn to use all of your camera's exposure controls where available (Auto, Program, Shutter priority, Aperture priority, Manual, ISO and EV) to produce well exposed photographs under different photographic conditions. Learn to use a variety of lighting techniques with simple and inexpensive light sources. Learn how to produce well composed photographs against a variety of objects and props and complimentary backgrounds.. *Learn how to make simple changes to exposures using Adobe Photoshop imaging software.

  • Additional Information


    Students are required to bring their own digital type camera, memory cards (with space for new photos) and instruction manuals. Please make sure the camera battery is fully charged up for each lesson.

    Lesson information sheets will be provided. Please bring a pen and a notepad to write your own additional notes.
