Explore the world of gardening in these FREE short courses in May and June.

Whether you have an allotment, garden, balcony or even a windowsill, discover how to get started to grow your own vegetables, herbs, fruit and flowers. Learn how to cultivate a range of crops from seed to harvest, and to troubleshoot common problems.

This will be a mostly practical outside course although we will be covering some theory in our classroom time as well as offering tips and advice.

    No previous experience needed.

  • Course Content


    The course will cover:

    • sowing seeds

    • planting out

    • taking cuttings

    • creating wildlife habitats

    • creating wildflower areas

    • improving green spaces

    • learning about plant care

    • composting

    • how to reduce carbon footprint on a small scale

    All equipment will be provided. You may like to bring your own gardening gloves if you have them, but these will be available to borrow on site if not. This is a practical course which will largely take place outdoors (weather permitting), so please dress accordingly.
